There are 7 simple steps given to handle your finances and free yourself from debts. It's really helpful to read this kind of book. It gives you a step by step process how to do it. There is planning, gathering of details about your debts, knowing how much you can afford to pay as of the moment, prioritizing your needs and getting rid of things that create debts. I like reading the part about "Getting the Equation Right”, I'm going to apply this method in my life. This a great book to read which aims to free us from debts and teach us to use our money wisely.

This book is about being debt free, and the author has got that on target, the biggest cause of our debt accumulation is our uncontrolled expenses. We need to be strict with our budget specially when we are living in hard economic times and jobs are no more secure. I liked the advice from the author that we shall try neglect the overuse of our credit cards and maintain them to a minimum. Also the author has talked about the credit score which is used by the financial institutions to approve the loans. I have also loved the advice about the emergency savings, because most of us neglect that. The first thing I am going to implement and start following from now on is the 60-40 formula.

About the Author
As you may have noticed by now, Mark is a breed all his own. Some may call his style unconventional, and the rest would probably agree! Mark got his start as a business owner early in life. He was only 10 years old when he hit the streets with a bucket and some soap and began a weekly car wash service for his neighbors. That led to his first “real” job with a lawn maintenance company at age 14. Mark was a hard worker. One of Mark’s mottos is, “If it’s worth doing, then it is worth overdoing.” While this is not the balanced approach he takes with his clients now, it might explain his “achiever” mindset in everything he does. At 17 years old, he decided he was ready for some independence; he moved out and got his own apartment while finishing high school. He graduated high school Salutatorian. That is second out of his entire class. After high school, he did not slow down. Mark put himself through college while working as a self-employed tile contractor and purchased his first home when he was 21 years old. While on a tile job, Mark was scouted to become a model and worked in the US and Europe for about 8 years. He was on television, on magazine covers, and inside more catalogs than I can count. Seeing him on billboards was fun but odd. Following his time in Europe, he worked in sales and marketing with a new product development firm. Never one to let an opportunity pass him by, he left that lucrative position to earn his real estate license, become a loan officer, and travel with a real estate investment firm. When the real estate market crashed, Mark changed direction. He headed back to college to expand his accounting, bookkeeping, and tax preparation knowledge where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Accountancy. So what does Mark do for fun? Aside from loving the fact that he is married to his best friend and business partner, he has the cutest daughter ever and three amazing stepsons. Mark loves life. He loves traveling and photography but cannot go more than a day or two without surfing. Mark loves to play tennis, or golf, or volleyball, or soccer, or ping pong, or pretty much any sport. Heck, he has even managed to make movie watching a sport. While not a big fan of reading, he still manages to read 1-2 hours a day. He works hard and plays hard, is abundantly humble, curiously intelligent, and savagely good-looking. If you are starting a business get this book!

I've been confused about how to start a business for years. I was a little skeptical when I was told this book would help me. It's was amazing how easy this book makes it. Within 30 minutes of reading I knew what I need to do for the type of business I have created. It really takes the confusion out and form a very clear outline for people who no nothing about starting up a business, like me...a guitar player.

The title of the book Evergreen is an analogy to how customers are to companies as leaves are to trees. Evergreen trees remain lush, healthy and green all year round. Deciduous trees go through a pattern of growing new leaves and then shedding them. Growing new leaves and then shedding them. Does the term "customer churn" come to mind?

Profitable companies retain their customers like evergreens retain their growth. Sadly, many companies work really hard to acquire new customers only to shed them quickly thereafter. Not like an evergreen. As a result, many companies are wasting staggering amounts of money by not focusing any or a sufficient amount of their marketing on their existing customers.

In Evergreen, Noah Fleming walks you through very specific steps to show you how to better retain customers, turn them into raving fans and actually make your new customer acquisition not only easier but more effective.

Customer rentention and loyalty for the 21st century

Customer retention for the 21st century
Maybe I like this book because I agree so wholeheartedly with the author. In fact one of the selling points of my consulting company is that I can grow your business by ten percent without ever adding a new customer.
In this new book Noah Fleming shows us how to not only “mine our current customer list but to also reach back to those companies you used to do business with a re-capture some of that business as well.
By using his defined three “C” program you can pick up just about everything you need to know about customer loyalty and retention. By using the three “C”s Character: which is based on why you do what you do to Community: Created a community of customers with shared interests and needs and Content: what your company offers to your customers.
The chapters on customer loyalty are especially valuable with the author exploring and defining the various loyalty programs showing us which ones work and which do not by using real life examples from Starbucks to Delta Airlines.
The chapter of firing your customers is worth the price of the book. Knowing which customers to fire and why and how is invaluable. Basically this gets down to a few categories from those customers who take up the most time and have the least profit margin to those unhappy customers who will just never be happy no matter what you do. The real life example of how Amazon deals with unhappy customers is telling to say the least.

A practical and powerful way to improve customer retention

A trusted colleague suggested that I pick up a copy of Evergreen after hearing the author speak at an executive conference. I’m a business development and marketing consultant, and my colleague knows that I like to stay abreast of new, groundbreaking ideas from thought leaders in my profession, so he occasionally refers books to me.

Let me preface this review by stating that I’ve been creating and implementing strategic customer retention programs for my clients for over 15 years. I understand their importance and have seen good programs produce incredible results in profitability and organizational growth. On at least a dozen occasions I’ve seen smaller businesses (I’ll define them as $10 million to $50 million in annual sales) attribute 25% annual growth to a good customer retention program. I’ve even seen a $100 million company sustain 30% growth for three consecutive years by focusing on retention and loyalty.

With that said, there are three main reasons why I strongly recommend this book to entrepreneurs, business leaders, and marketing professional of any industry:

First, the author’s powerful “Evergreen” metaphor, in-depth knowledge of the subject and real-world examples do a great job in simplifying a complicated concept.

Second, the book eloquently explains how to create a sound customer retention and loyalty strategy (something that many marketers and business leaders get wrong, sabotaging their efforts), and it also gives excellent advice on how to execute your plan at a tactical level.

And third, I’m going to put this information to work with my own clients.

I believe this book will make me better at what I do, and I believe it can make you better at driving sustainable business growth through customer retention in your business, too.

A must read for people who start with Outsourcing!

This book contains all the important information to start outsourcing your business or the daily tasks in your life. It is well structured and the author knows what he is talking about when it comes to hiring freelancers or getting more things done with less effort.

Besides, I really liked the explained strategies in this book for running a business without staying at home all the time. It is important for me to be more flexible as an entrepreneur and I want to work on my business while traveling the world. Only outsourcing allows you to have such a lifestyle.

It is definitely a must read for "Outsourcing-Beginners" but also for people who already have experience in outsourcing their business or life.

Before reading this book, I was the entrepreneur that did it all. From writing and editing, to web design and customer service, I was a one-man show. This ebook showed me how to easily outsources all of these repetitive tasks to a virtual assistant, who will take care of all of it, sometimes for as low as $3 per hour! Furthermore, I was really impressed how much the author went in depth about the exact steps and specific websites to go to in order to hire a Virtual Assistant. Without this book, I would still be working 60 hours a week!

Luni's book is a gem: small, impressive and valuable. I strongly recommend it to anyone who thinks they can raise money from serious investors. It's also valuable emphasizing the new ways to raise money such as crowd-funding, and ways to prove you are investable, such as contests and pre-orders. What managers can do to make Scrum succeed

There are many books on agile and Scrum. Most describe what agile is and how agile teams work.

This book is different. It is not focused on the teams, but on managers. It describes what agile and Scrum is in the language spoken by managers. Explains subjects that are important for managers, such as targets and KPIs, the ROI of Scrum, organizational structure and leadership.

It is also a practical guide for managers, which describes what they can do to ensure that Scrum teams can be successful. Provides ideas for their contribution in an agile transition and what they can do to anchor agile processes in the organization.

A downside of the book is that it's only about Scrum. Although Scrum is the most common agile framework, it is not the only one. There are many practices that organizations can use to increase agility. My feeling is that focusing on Scrum gives a one-sided view, and leaves out some valuable stuff.

Nevertheless, I recommend this book to managers and to engineers, architects, tech leads, product owners, basically everyone dealing with agile. Read it and use the knowledge inside to your advantage!

Scott somehow manages to write a very punchy and catchy book that doesn't feel like you're reading a book

I have a confession to make: This is my very first review on Amazon.com.

Scott has written a very touching book. It radiates authenticity and experience and has very VERY practical and real advice for networking I haven't seen anywhere else in the world.

But what really ties this book together is the writing style. Scott somehow manages to write a very punchy and catchy book that doesn't feel like you're reading a book. It's more like sitting down with Scott and talking to him 1 on 1. This style is VERY difficult, especially in a non-fiction book about a traditionally dry topic: networking. I don't want to sound too hype-y and say he's a blend of Hemingway and Tim Ferriss, but he is a damn fine writer.

This book isn't about networking, either. It's about connections (hence the name). Scott is a living, breathing example of courage and authenticity. You won't want to put this book down- buy it now!

Solid, solid approach to building a network from the ground up

When I was 22 and entering the "real world" I interviewed a bunch of my charismatic friends asking them, "how the hell do I build a network?" I got answers that ran the spectrum from "well, once someone does you a small favor, ask for a bigger one" (aka the Benjamin Franklin effect), to "take interest in people and make them laugh" (good advice for being charismatic) to "proactively provide value for others" (the best possible networking advice).

What I never found was a guide on how to build a network of people who I can help who would also be willing to help me. While the approach in Connections that Count isn't the only possible approach to building a great network from scratch, it is by far the best one that I've come across in about a decade of actively studying (and doing) network building. The approach the author advocates is bold, but holy hell is effective.

Good information, but misleading title

If you are looking for a complete "how to" to host a lunch or dinner that brings people together and establishes new connections, then this is the book for you. I found it very comprehensive and the inclusion of email templates would be very helpful if you were to employ the author's strategy.

However, I'm only giving it 4 stars because the title is misleading. I was expecting a book about making connections generally, not a specific technique for making connections. The inclusion of an introduction or preface explaining the concept would be really helpful for those of us new to this concept.
