I recommend both of Peter Kageyama's books - For the Love ...

As a Mayor and local government college professor, I recommend both of Peter Kageyama's books - For the Love of Cities and Love Where You Live. I certainly love where I live, love being Mayor, love teaching students to appreciate their hometowns. I respect Mr. Kageyama's approach and enthusiasm toward providing city leaders with ideas and encouragement in making their own cities more livable, likeable and loveable!

It's about establishing relationships with people who love their communities because there is power in numbers

I have been a small town, grass roots advocate for my downtown and entire community, but this book got me very excited and re-energized my "purpose" for doing what I do. It's about establishing relationships with people who love their communities because there is power in numbers. There is joy in making your community more beautiful, more interesting, and more economically vibrant. We are currently working on a proposed Cultural Arts Village and it's brought together like-minded, creative people. It starts momentum and gives you hope of achieving good things, even though there can be hiccups and miles of red tape. It can be slow-going, but if you are focused, things can change for the better.
