Since I often spend so much time reading financial news updates and investment research, I rarely afford myself the time to read for pleasure. Fortunately, I took just a couple of minutes to read the first few pages of Plateau to Pinnacle, because it hooked me right away. I’ve enjoyed every second of reading this book. I found it entertaining and easy to read, but more importantly, it’s helping me relearn the business in a way I can actually remember and implement. I like the way the end of each chapter is set up, because I plan to refer back to the book on a regular basis.”

If You are Ready For Action--Read this Book.

This easy and fast read book cuts through the platitudes and jargon and hits home. Jeff provides quick "to do" items at the end of each chapter. His book is to the point without beating the point to death.

I especially liked how to turn a firm no into a yes (43% of all yes answers started out as NO) and how to address and respect push back. Because it's a quick read, it's easy to keep on the shelf or in your brief case as a reminder of what you should be doing.

Awesome guide on what you should know as a business interested in AdWords

I've been involved in the internet marketing space for over 5 years but for whatever reason have always avoided Adwords. Most of my background has been organic & local SEO, blogging, and social media among various topics I've learned about.

Most marketers these days are always talking about Facebook ads and other various means of advertising. I've never had any real exposure to running campaigns but I knew it was profitable way to generate ROI since big companies like Yellowpages among many others run campaigns for small to large businesses across the globe. In fact in a lot of cases I've managed to bring various small business clients over to the world of local SEO using their "failing Adwords campaigns" as a crutch to sign them up with me. This is because generally the campaigns were being run without 1 on 1 attention and producing poor results.

Steve handed me this book and at first I actually didn't realize he was the author, I simply thought it was a general knowledge book on Adwords. After chatting more over a beer across the street I realized he actually wrote this survival guide.

I decided to take the time to read through the entire book this weekend. Knowing Adwords was new to me I am not completely new to paid advertising (I've played around with other mediums such as CPA dating offers with Plenty of Fish for example).

This book really covers all of the principles any business should be following when running an Adwords campaign. It provides a lot of basic knowledge of the platform and Steve provides many examples of proper optimization techniques. What this book really provides is a comprehensive look at all of the things your PPC manager "could" be doing when running a campaign. I fully understand at this point if I were a small business owner looking to hire someone to manage my Adwords campaign I'd know exactly what to look for and how to pick apart their work if something was missing.

Steve talks about how many large companies like Yodle, Dex Media, YellowPages and many others are simply out there to "churn and burn" customers with high promises and minimal results. There is simply no "personalized" approach to working with these large companies. They are more interested in making sales and bringing in more clients than specifically working with companies to produce high quality results and create a positive ROI. This is the exact reason I was able to take many Adwords customers for local SEO work, simply because I was able to offer personalized help.

Steve really helped me build confidence in the Adwords platform after reading this book. It simply is taking the time and patience to be thorough and actually produce real results when working with businesses, this is the exact approach his company takes with it's clients.

I'd say if you are looking for a comprehensive "hand holding" approach to getting started with Adwords a video based course might be a better way to learn from scratch.

This book is more going to help you understand as a business owner what you need to know before diving in and spending thousands with a company just to see poor results.

I honestly believe anyone who plans to or is currently working with an agency on an Adwords campaign absolutely needs to read this book to understand everything that could be done to make adjustments and improve so your not wasting money.

Dave has simplified what has been a very complex exercise for many. He is uniquely qualified based on his immense background in developing strategic plans for military organizations. However, he has broken the process of strategic planning down to very basic steps that both novices as well as the experienced can glean a wealth of actionable knowledge.
He has provided very practical templates that accompany the steps that simplify things even more. I find this book so valuable to get started with my new organization and I feel that it will apply to many others in the corporate, non-profit, and even military circles.
This will be the primary book I use for strategic planning because it has everything needed to get on top and stay on top of your organization.

About the Author
Leo Anthony Kiesewetter holds a master’s degree in business education and has completed postgraduate work in business. He spent twenty-nine years as a teacher and administrator at the high school and college levels. For fourteen of these years, he was the chairperson of the department of business at Illinois Central College in East Peoria, Illinois. Before that he was an accountant for a real estate developer then owned his own real estate company. After high school he served two years in the Army. As the chairperson of the department of business, Kiesewetter was responsible at one time or another for all aspects of the college’s business programs. He also provided leadership for thirty-four full-time and 120 part-time faculty members. Owning a small real-estate company also provided him additional leadership experiences. Kiesewetter has written and published three novels (The Story of Love and the Missing Lara, The Murder of George, and The Vineyard Surprise) as well as a book of poetry (The Reflections of Poetry).

I wish that I had read a book exactly like this one 15 years ago! If you have 5 minutes or more than two weeks to prepare to your next salary negotiation then this book is exactly what you are looking for. The book is complete, interesting, easy to understand, easy to read and goes straight to the point. It gives the theoretical background that is needed for a negotiation in a way that is easy to remember and apply in real world salary negotiations. It explains the theory behind negotiations and explains concepts such as ZONA, BATNA, win-win, MESO, anchoring, level I, level II negotiation in a way that very clear, easy to understand and easy to remember. The cases that the book has can be tailored to the particular situation that you face.

The knowledge that you will acquire reading this book will make you much more efficient and effective in your next salary negotiation. If what you are looking for book where you will have a high ROI (return on investment) then this book is for you.

Having recently interviewed at two companies, I found out about Lewis Lin’s book just in time. I usually I dread negotiating since I’m an introvert. However, as a result of his advice, I'll be much more confident and ready to respond when I receive an offer.

The 60 case studies are invaluable and include how to answer questions about your current salary when filling out an online application and how to start a bidding war for your services. Buy this book and earn much more over your career, with more vacation time to enjoy your life. It’s that simple.

Negotiating can be quite stressful, but with Lewis guiding you, it doesn’t have to be.

Excellent read.

This book gives sound advice to candidates negotiating for salaries in the job market. I really enjoyed the clear and concise read. As a former recruiter, I think the approaches to salaries laid out in this book are professional and appropriate. I would recommend it to any of my friends and family!
